How to manage more than 10 social profiles across several brands

Last checked against each platform's own docs

What can you do when you reach Hootsuite's 10 account limit?

As of 23 October 2026, Hootsuite's Standard plan manages up to 10 social accounts, and Professional manages unlimited ones, both priced per user. Your options are moving up a plan, removing profiles you no longer post to, or using a tool that counts profiles differently, such as per channel or per set.

First, count what you need

  1. List every profile

One line per brand per platform. Include the ones you rarely post to: they count if they're connected.

  2. Drop the dead ones

A profile you haven't posted to in months may not need to be in your scheduler at all.

  3. Count the people

Who needs to log in? Some tools charge per person, others don't.

  4. Group by brand

Keep each brand's profiles together, so its posts, voice and approvals stay separate.

How Hootsuite, Buffer and Later count profiles

The cheapest tool for several brands depends on your numbers

Do the sum with your own counts. Two examples, using the prices in the table, per month:

  • 3 brands on 4 platforms (12 profiles), one person: Buffer Essentials is up to 12 × $5 = $60 before its volume discount. Later needs 3 sets, so Growth (billed yearly) plus one extra set is $37.50 + $11.25 = $48.75. Hootsuite Standard stops at 10, so Professional is $199, billed annually.
  • 5 brands on 5 platforms (25 profiles), two people: Buffer Team is up to 25 × $10 = $250 before its volume discount. Later Scale covers 6 sets and 4 users for $82.50, billed yearly. Hootsuite Professional is 2 × $199 = $398, billed annually.
  • Then weigh what each plan includes beyond profiles, such as inboxes, approvals and analytics, against what you need.

How to connect more than 10 social profiles

  1. Pick the counting model that fits

Per user if one person runs many brands; per channel if you have few profiles and many people; per set if each brand is on most platforms.

  2. Connect one brand at a time

Finish and test one brand's profiles before starting the next, so a failed login is easy to trace.

  3. Name everything by brand

Put the brand name first in every profile label, so a post doesn't go to the wrong account.

  4. Test each new connection

Send one test post to each new profile and delete it, before your real schedule depends on it.

  5. Check connections monthly

Logins expire. A monthly reminder to look over every connection saves a week of missed posts.

The easier way

  • Socialhand is priced per business, not per profile or per seat: each plan ($97, $197 or $397 a month) covers one business on all 8 platforms.
  • Several brands means one plan per brand, each with its own voice, posts and replies kept apart.
  • It also makes the posts: reels, carousels and posts for every platform, which a scheduler leaves to you.

Questions people ask

Does Hootsuite limit how many social accounts I can connect?

As of 23 October 2026, Hootsuite's pricing page says Standard manages up to 10 social accounts, and Professional, Advanced and Enterprise list unlimited.

What's the cheapest way to schedule posts for several brands?

It depends on your profiles and people. Per-channel pricing (Buffer) suits few profiles and many people, per-set pricing (Later) suits brands on most platforms, and per-user pricing (Hootsuite) suits one person with many accounts.

Can I use one tool for some brands and another for the rest?

Yes. Connect each profile to only one of them for posting, so nothing goes out twice and two tools don't share one account's daily cap.
